World War One - Letter from King George of England to the United States Expeditionary Forces in France |
I have researched this item, and found that it was not the original hand-written
one, which resides in a museum. However, copies of the original letter (of
which this is one), were given to all the soldiers that had come to fight in
France during World War One. This one belonged to my Grandfather, who DID fight in this war, and so that makes it an antique for sure. 1917 is the date the Expeditionary Forces landed in France, so it is probably ninety-two years old (92 years), give or take one year. I will be adding a short history of the World War One Expeditionary Forces in France during this war. Right now I'm getting the entire website working correctly. Sorry for the delay.
